Dr .Mrs. Prameelamma is a renowned Gynaecologist & Obstetrician and Chief Executive of Serve Train Educate People’s Society (STEPS) women led NGO at Srikalahasti Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh state, India. She started her carrier at 1983. She was moved by the appalling sanitary and health conditions and abject poverty breeding, ill health among the people inhabiting the urban slums and rural areas surrounding Srikalahasti. To contribute to the development of these people, she has initially conducted free medical camps. Later on, she quit her private practice and established STEPS in 1993 for providing health and welfare services to the poor and down trodden.

MEDICAL AND HEALTH CAMPS
Till to date she conducted more than 500 Free Medical and Health camps in urban slums and 10 rural mandals surrounding Srikalahasti. When ever there are natural calamities, she is responding immediately, arranging medical camps and involved in relief activities.

MALARIA ERADICATION PROGRAMME
Malaria is prevailing in most of the villages surrounding Srikalahasti. She is conducting Free Medical camps in the malaria affected villages regularly and providing clinical services to them. The District Health authorities have nominated her in the committee to supervise the activities of malaria eradication programmes in this area. She is creating awareness in urban slums and rural areas to keep their surroundings clean and hygiene to prevent breeding of mosquitoes which causes Malaria

STEPS URBAN HEALTH CENTRE (STEPS UHC)
To have direct contact and to provide health services to the children, women and aged people, she is working as Medical Officer in STEPS Urban Health centre (UHC) situated in slums of Srikalahasti municipality and providing clinical services and awareness creation among women and adolescents. She motivated the women and adolescent girls to form Mahila Aarogya Sangams (MAS).These MAS members will work out the guide lines for the functioning of the urban health centre and participate in all the activities of the UHC.

HIV/AIDS PROGRAMMES
STEPS FRONTIERS PREVENTION PROJECT
In STEPS FPP and AVAHAN Projects as Project Director and Medical Officer she is providing clinical services to the Female sex workers, Male Sex with Male, People living with HIV/AIDS. She is conducting mobile clinics for them at 4 sites. She created awareness among them about STI, HIV/AIDS and their rights. Motivated them to form Community Based Organizations (CBO) for their welfare and safe guarding their rights. She conducted advocacy camps for the Doctors, Police and Lawyers to explain about the rights of FSWs, MSMs, and PLHAS.
Besides providing clinical services for STI, OI she is safe guarding human rights of Female Sex Workers, People Living with HIV/AIDS when they are deserted by their community or family members

LEGAL ASSISTANCE & COUNSELLING CELL FOR WOMEN
As a member of Lok Adalat, Srikalahasti in association with Mandal legal literacy authority and local lawyers organized several legal literacy camps in its target villages with a special focus to provide legal assistance and knowledge to the deprived section. She solved many complicated cases by arbitration. As a president of women vigilance cell, Srikalahasti solved many problems of women in different situations. The deprived women were provided with necessary guidance and legal assistance. Counseling services were initiated to guide, support and resolve the problems being encountered by the women at home like Violence, exploitation, gender bias, dowry deaths
